Spurs given “final offer”

Stoke submit final offer for Crouch and Palacios

By | 11th August 2011

Stoke City chairman Peter Coates has revealed that the Potters have made one final offer for Tottenham duo Peter Crouch and Wilson Palacios. Stoke are trying to strengthen their squad ahead the start of the new season, especially considering the addition of Europa League matches to their fixture list.

“We’ve made our last bid, the ball is in their court. We shall not be negotiating from where we are,” Coates said of his side’s £17 million bid for Crouch and Palacios.

“The last conversation I had with Spurs, we had not agreed anything. We’ll see what happens, but we haven’t got any further.”

Aside from Crouch and Palacios, Spurs striker Robbie Keane also looks like he could leave the club. The Irishman admitted earlier this week that his future lies away from White Hart Lane, but refused to speculate where he may land.

“It’s probably likely that I will be going but I can’t really answer where to at the moment,” Keane said.

“There’s obviously a lot of speculation but there’s still a couple of weeks to go and we’ll see what happens.

“I haven’t turned down anything. I think there’s a few people talking to the clubs but that’s all I can really say at the moment. I’m sure in the next couple of weeks it will be sorted out.”
