Spain deservedly beat Germany 1-0 to win their first major tournament in 44 years. With the tournament’s leading scorer missing (David Villa), Spain relied on Fernando Torres to outpace the German defense as he slotted home past Jens Lehmann.

Throughout the entire match Spain proved to be the better side and few can argue they didn’t deserve to win Euro 2008. With only one shot on goal Germany just didn’t have enough to cope with Spain’s intricate midfield play and pacy attack.
