Bolton Sign Sean Davis

Bolton have wrapped up the signing of former Portsmouth midfielder Sean Davis. Davis rejected a new contract at Fratton Park and joins the Trotters on a free transfer.

Manager Gary Megson finally gets his man after a long pursuit. In January Bolton bid £3 million for the player, but Pompey were quick to reject the bid. In hindsight, with only six months left on the midfielder’s contract, Portsmouth should have accepted the cash on the table.

While Bolton are keen to bolster their squad this summer, it remains to be seen what will…

Bolton Bid for Bullard

Although this January’s transfer window has been relatively quiet, it appears movement is on the horizon. The latest report indicates that Gary Megson and Bolton are ready to meet Fulham’s valuation of midfielder Jimmy Bullard.

Bullard, who has perhaps been Fulham’s best player so far, has only 18 months remaining on his contract. To renew his contract, Bullard is demanding to double his salary to £50,000 pounds a week. Manager Roy Hodgson wants to keep the midfielder, but not at such a high cost, so Bolton’s bid of £5 million should be…

Denilson Boltin’ to Bolton

Denilson is said to be finalizing a deal with Bolton. Which Denilson though? There are 2, of course.

It is being reported that Denilson, the former Palmeiras winger, is very close to signing a deal with Bolton. After being released earlier this month by Palmeiras, Denilson is said to have been considering a move back to Europe. This surprise signing would really help out the Wanderers attack for the second half of the season.

Although he’s 31-years-old, Denilson is a Brazilian star who brings tons of experience and skills to the pitch every…

With one month of Premiership action out of the way, Premiership Talk reviews all twenty teams and grades them based on their early season performances.

Arsenal

The title hopefuls from London have had an indifferent start to the season. An opening day narrow victory against West Bromwich Albion didn’t convince too many fans, and that performance was followed up with an extremely disappointing 1-0 defeat at the hands of Fulham. Arsenal clearly aren’t firing on all cylinders yet, but Samir Nasri already looks like he’ll be a good signing for the club. I…

Long gone are the days where Bolton were a side who struck fear into many of the Premier League’s greatest sides. Under Sam Allardyce, the rough side from northern England used to put up a fight 38+ games each season - no matter who the opponent was. The side was one that went to war every 90 minutes on the pitch; without much technical ability it came down to heart and desire. When Big Sam left the Reebok Stadium, it seems like he took Bolton’s heart with him.

This season was supposed…

Gary Megson has wasted no time in replacing El Hadji Diouf, and has immediately captured the signing of Dutch under 21 international Mustafa Riga from Levante.

The winger, 26, was a big hit at the Spanish outfit, and was given the nickname “The Bullet” for his blistering pace. Originally born in Ghana, Riga has played for 3 clubs prior to his move to Spain.

Bolton have shown no hesitation in splashing the cash this summer, having already spent vast amounts of money on Fabrice Muamba and Johan Elmander, in a bid to…
