Ahead of Sunday’s dramatic 1-0 win over Cardiff City, new Tottenham signing Christian Eriksen joked that due to his great form in his first two appearances for his new club, he shouldn’t move out of the hotel he’s staying at since arriving in London. Eriksen signed at the end of the summer for a fee of £11.5 million from Dutch side Ajax, a transfer that many have called the bargain of the summer transfer window.

Since arriving, Eriksen produced a wonderful assist in his debut in the Premier League and came off the bench in the Europa League to score for Tottenham on Thursday. The 21 year old Dane is comfortable and happy to be with Spurs, revealing that it’s always been a dream of his to score for the north London outfit.

“It has been a good first week. I am still living in a hotel so I maybe I should stay in the hotel!” Eriksen said, according to The Independent.

“I am really excited to be here. It’s a nice place and all my team-mates are nice and I’m really happy about my start. Scoring for Spurs is something I have dreamed about so it was nice to do it in my second game. I don’t often get them on the pitch, just on the training ground.”

Eriksen started Sunday’s match against Cardiff City, but was subbed off with the score still at 0-0. Andre Villas-Boas’ new stars combined once again to grab all three points for the traveling Spurs, as Erik Lamela combined with midfielder Paulinho to score a dramatic winner in stoppage time.

Spurs were without midfielder Etienne Capoue, who has an ankle injury, and Aaron Lennon, who has a foot injury.

  1. Spur has become a better team without Gareth Bale. They are beginning to play as a unit. They next game with Chelsea will prove how far they have improved. if they win, they will have sent the message to other team that they intend to achieve they aim of qualifying for Champion League. If again they do not concede a goal, it would show that there back in now solid. by Elisha Mafunga
