Marouane Fellaini spoke out to reveal his belief that former Manchester United player Cristiano Ronaldo is losing out by not returning to the Manchester outfit. Fellaini signed a contract with United after being transferred from Everton for a fee of £27.5 million in the final hours of the summer transfer window. Now that he’s arrived and had a few weeks to get settled, Fellaini reported on his life so far with the club, revealing his happiness to be playing for United.

Fellaini praised the quality of the players as well as the facilities, saying they both combine to create a great environment for him to improve as a player. The Belgian feels like he’s at home with United already due to the attitudes of the players at the club and has also enjoyed how the supporters have received him so far.

“It is different here, compared to Everton, and everything is in place to help me improve as a player,” Fellaini said, according to the Daily Mail.

“I am surrounded by better players, with more quality and better technique, and they have also demonstrated how much they care about me settling in quickly. They have gone to the trouble of spending time with me and offering advice, talking through any questions I wanted answering.

“The experienced players have been great with me, but others have played a part as well. They all have, and I appreciate it. It has helped me feel at home. If Ronaldo has made it clear he won’t be coming here, that’s just too bad for him!

“I feel great at this club, and when I see supporters turning up for games wearing a (Fellaini) wig, it makes me feel even better. It is funny to see that, but very pleasing as well. It makes me want to do all I can for them on the pitch, and that’s what I will do.”

Fellaini faced his first major test as a United player yesterday in the first Manchester derby of the season. Fellaini started alongside the experienced Michael Carrick, but ultimately saw City’s midfield run the show, with Yaya Toure and Fernandinho overshadowing David Moyes’ tactical lineup. The Citizens ran out 4-1 winners, showing Fellaini that life isn’t always easy for the champions.

United take on Liverpool in the Capital One Cup on Wednesday.
