Tennis legend Roger Federer couldn’t reveal his delight at Chelsea’s shocking 2-1 defeat against FC Basel in Wednesday night’s Champions League match at Stamford Bridge. The superstar used his personal Twitter account to hail FC Basel’s win, as the club hails from Federer’s native Switzerland.

Federer is a known football supporter, having impressed fans in Brazil during a tournament in Sao Paolo as he appeared in a Brazilian national team jersey before proceeding to play soccer tennis on the center court. He was clearly delighted to see FC Basel beat Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea, but the Swiss side still face an uphill battle to progress from Group E. The Swiss side will need to finish above the Blues and talented Bundesliga side FC Schalke if they want to progress to the round of 16, with Steaua București rounding out the group.

Federer, meanwhile, is currently preparing for the Shanghai Rolex Masters tournament, which takes place in early October. Federer saw a surprise early exit in his most recent major tournament, as he crashed out of the US Open in just the fourth round. FC Basel will be hoping to do better than Federer in this year’s Champions League.
