Germans release welcoming video to Gunners

Borussia Dortmund welcome Arsenal to Group F

By | 18th September 2013

Bundesliga side and Champions League runners-up Borussia Dortmund have released a video on their official YouTube page welcoming Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal side to Group F in this year’s Champions League. The Gunners have found themselves in the unfortunate situation of being placed into this year’s so-called “group of death,” and their German rivals have embraced the group in their welcome video.

In the video, Dortmund’s players welcome Arsenal, Napoli, and French side Marseille to Group F, and invite them all to play beautiful football during this year’s group stages. Dortmund have become one of the darlings of European football over recent seasons, recently winning the Bundesliga in back-to-back seasons from 2010 to 2012, and also finishing as last year’s Champions League runners-up in a thrilling final with Bayern Munich.

Group F kicks off later tonight with Arsenal taking on Marseille at the Stade Vélodrome while Dortmund open their own campaign against Napoli in Italy as striker Gonzalo Higuain looks to make his European debut for his new club. Rafa Benitez will also be managing his first Champions League match since crashing out of the Champions League group stages with Chelsea last season.
