According to The Daily Mail, Championship side Blackburn are interested in securing a loan deal for Manchester United defender Michael Keane. The 20 year old has been one of the best players in United’s reserves squad in recent seasons, but spent the entirety of last season on loan with Leicester City, alongside fellow United standout Jesse Lingard.

Keane made several appearances during Manchester United’s preseason tour of Asia and Australia, and impressed once again for the England under-21 side in Thursday’s match against Moldova. Gareth Southgate’s under-21 side ran out 1-0 winners in their 2015 Under-21 European Championships qualifying match, with Keane playing all 90 minutes in the heart of the Three Lions’ defense.

Blackburn have also recently been linked with a loan approach for Manchester United’s most promising starlet, Adnan Januzaj. Like Keane, the Belgian youngster impressed during the club’s preseason tour and has seen his stock rise after new manager David Moyes promoted him to the first team. Januzaj is a creative attacking midfielder who has impeccable vision, and is tipped by many United supporters as a future star at Old Trafford.

Blackburn have picked up two wins and a draw in their opening five Championship matches, and would add depth with the arrival of United’s Keane.
