According to The GuardianNewcastle United midfielder Yohan Cabaye is expected to feature in his first match of the season for the club. Cabaye refused to play in the first three matches for Newcastle as his agent prompted him to sit out in order to force a transfer away from the club. With Newcastle threatening to suspend pay for the French midfielder as a result of his insubordination, Cabaye may play in Newcastle’s match on Saturday against London side Fulham.

Arsenal submitted a £10 million bid for Cabaye but Newcastle owner Mike Ashley has revealed that he wants £20 million for the player. Wenger has not made a second bid for the player, leaving the situation in limbo. With the transfer deadline only days away, Arsenal may have given up on their attempt to sign the midfielder as his return to the team may indicate Cabaye will remain with Newcastle this season.

Newcastle have gotten off to a rough start this season without Cabaye, losing their season opener 4-0 and drawing West Ham in their second match of the season, 0-0. The club did win 2-0 against League Two side Morecambe in their Capital One Cup match on Wednesday.
