According to the Daily MailNewcastle have been encouraged to sign Demba Ba from Chelsea on loan for a fee of £3 million. If Newcastle want to purchase him on a permanent deal, it will cost them £10 million. Ba is thought to be viewed as surplus requirements to returning Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho as the Portuguese boss is currently taking offers for the Senegalese striker.

Newcastle are trying to finalize their squad ahead of Monday’s transfer deadline as unsettled midfielder Yohan Cabaye has yet to feature for the side this season amid rumors of a transfer away from the club. The French international has been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium as Arsenal have already had a £10 million bid rejected while French club Paris Saint-Germain have also expressed their interest in Cabaye.

Newcastle have been in the market for a striker throughout the summer as the club saw a move for Bafetimbi Gomis fall through after it seemed the French striker would move from Lyon to England. Newcastle had agreed terms with Lyon, only to see the deal sputter. It seems now, however, that talks have resumed as Newcastle attempt to sign the striker one more time and have him join the on-loan Loic Remy up top, along with Papiss Cisse.

  1. Porciestreet says; It didn't work Before so why should it work now,…..unless Pardew gets the bullet and someone who can coach properly comes in. Posible!

  2. id be soo happy seeing Demba Ba back with us :) as much as I love Cisse playing alone up front, I think they'd get better infront of goal and score more goals :)
