Ravel Morrison was fantastic in his full debut for West Ham United on Tuesday as the Hammers defeated Cheltenham 2-1 in the second round of the Capital One Cup.

The 20 year old picked up the man of the match award in his first full 90 minutes with West Ham. Morrison played well in the offensive end but also tracked back, putting in a complete performance for the Hammers. The English youngster scored just before the break, displaying nice ability before finishing low into the bottom corner.

Morrison, along with Paul Pogba, was considered a top prospect for Manchester United before the duo made their departures, with Morrison being transferred to West Ham in January of 2012. The 20 year old spent last year on loan to Championship side Birmingham City where he made 27 appearances and scored three times.

The talented midfielder will surely be hoping to secure a place in Sam Allardyce’s first team with his excellent display against Cheltenham. Morrison has yet to earn a Premier League start in his young career.
