Tottenham have reportedly made Roma winger Erik Lamela their top priority signing this summer. Sources at Goal.com are saying that the talented winger is the absolute priority for signings the club want to make if they sell Gareth Bale. Tottenham are asking a price for Bale that will match or break the transfer world record of £80 million and if they get it or a sum close to that, reportedly want to use the money to sign at least four players, with Lamela topping that list.

However, the report indicates that the club may still sign Lamela even if Bale stays at White Hart Lane this summer. The young midfielder is valued around £30 million.

Lamela is only 21 years old but is believed to have the potential to become a world class player. The Argentine is viewed as a dangerous player who is fantastic with the ball, will take on defenders, and can cut inside to create chances. If Spurs are able to sign the youngster, he will help add to the young, quick, and energetic side that manager Andre Villas-Boas has been building since his arrival.

Tottenham have already signed Brazilian midfielder Paulinho, striker Roberto Soldado, and winger Nacer Chadli but are looking to sign a center-back, left-back, and another winger and striker, according to Goal.com.
