Video: The most amazing assist of the summer

Raul finishes off a stunning goal

By | 29th July 2013

Schalke beat Al Sadd by a sensational scoreline of 9-0 in a friendly match, and accordingly the match was not short of highlights. Perhaps the pick of the bunch, though, was the assist by Julian Draxler as the German danced through the box and used a stunning skill move to find Raul wide open in the box for an easy tap-in. Raul has found his feet with the German club since surprisingly leaving Real Madrid, and looks set for another goalscoring season with Schalke.

Draxler’s assist may have come against poor opposition, but there’s no doubting the high level of the trick that he used to flick the ball to Raul in the box. Draxler not only danced through three defenders, but pulled his move off at match speed, impeccably finding the club’s most famous striker for an easy goal.

Schalke finished in fourth place in the Bundesliga last year, and will be hoping to close the gap on league champions and treble winners Bayern Munich. There’s no doubt it’ll be a hard task, however, as Bayern have recently welcomed new manager Pep Guardiola to the club along with new midfielder Thiago Alcantara.
