Bosingwa set for transfer

Bosingwa is set to link up with Florent Malouda in Turkey

By | 27th July 2013

QPR right-back Jose Bosingwa is set to leave the Championship club and join Turkish giants Trabzonspor, according to Sky Sports.  The 30-year-old defender joined Queens Park Rangers last season for their Premier League run, but lost his starting 11 spot during the season and was fined for refusing to be a sub.

Bosingwa signed a three-year contract at Loftus Road on a free transfer after his contract had expired with Premier League giants Chelsea, but had a rough time with the club.  The midfielder not only was fined, but was then taken off at halftime during a match in the latter half of the season against Newcastle because he was booed by the fans constantly, according to Sky Sports.

The former Chelsea man appeared in 23 matches last season for the club, being held scoreless in his time with the club.  Bosingwa, however, is set to join the Turkish giants, and link up with former Chelsea teammate Florent Malouda, who signed with the Turkish giants earlier this summer.

The Portuguese international was a major hit at Porto for five seasons, including time under current manager Jose Mourinho from 2003 to 2004, but was sold to the London giants for a fee of £16.3 million in 2004 after he was suspended by the Portuguese club when the defender lost control of his car, causing an accident with four other players, one who had to have his foot amputated.
