Current Celtic striker and QPR-target Gary Hooper has today agreed terms with Premier League side Norwich City. Hooper had been believed to be heading to Queens Park Rangers, but it seems that Norwich and manager Chris Hughton have jumped in and stolen the talented striker out from under the nose of Harry Redknapp.

According to Sky Sports, Hooper has agreed on a four year deal with Norwich City after Celtic agreed to sell the front man for an estimated £5.5 million.

Redknapp believed the deal was all but finalized and had said as much when questioned about the striker.

“It looks like it’s on its way to being done. Negotiations have gone well,” said Redknapp, according to Sky Sports.

“He’s a finisher. He’ll score goals in the Championship; I’m absolutely certain of that.

“He’s gone to Celtic; one of the biggest clubs in the world and he’s scored goals. He’s scored goals in the Champions League.

“He’s in the last year of his contract, so it’s a good deal for everybody. It’s good for Celtic to get the kind of money they are getting and hopefully it will be a great deal for QPR.

“If he can come here and get 25 goals next season, then we will have a real chance of getting out of the division.”

It’s no wonder why clubs have been interested in Hooper, as the striker has been electric for the Scottish side the last few years, scoring 82 goals in 138 appearances.

According to the BBCNorwich have been interested in the player for some time now, as they had multiple bids rejected by Celtic in January. Now that they have matched QPR’s bid and it looks like Celtic are ready to sell, it seems they may finally get their man.

Norwich are in need of a striker after last year’s leading goal scorer for the club, Grant Holt, who scored 8 goals in 34 appearances in the Premier League, left Norwich for Championship side Wigan Athletic.
