Premier League side Fulham have made their fifth signing of the summer today, with Fulham’s official website saying that the club have agreed to sign 18-year-old Ange-Freddy Plumain on a free transfer from Ligue 2 side Lens, and will be part of Fulham’s U-21 setup in the U-21 Premier League.

The 18-year-old Frenchman is viewed primarily as a midfielder, and will likely play that position for Fulham’s U-21 squad, after playing at Ligue 2 side FC Lens last season.

Plumain made 22 appearances for the French club last season, netting once for the side. Plumain also represented France at the U-16 level last season.

Fulham have had a busy summer already thus far, signing goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg from Roma in a £5 million deal, as well as right-back Sascha Riether from German side Cologne in a £1.2 million deal.  Fulham also signed Fernando Amorebieta and defensive midfielder Derek Boateng on free transfers this summer, making it three free transfer signings this summer.

The English side finished 12th last season in the Premier League, wrapping up the season with a lowly 43 points.  Fulham could, however, look to be more of a force in the Premier League in upcoming seasons as former owner Mohamed Al Fayed sold the club to Pakistani-born American Shahid Khan, who said he will be willing to spend to make the club great.

Current Fulham gaffer Martin Jol has stated that he would like one or two more large signings at Craven Cottage before the end of the window comes in August.
