Hull linked with Arsenal attacker

The Sun links Nicklas Bendtner with a move to Hull City

Arsenal forward Nicklas Bendtner is being linked to Premier League newcomer Hull City, according to The Sun.

Bendtner has wanted out of the north London outfit for a few years now, and has only appeared for the Gunners one time in the past two seasons after being loaned out to Juventus last season and Premier League side Sunderland two years ago.

It appears that Bendtner may finally get his wish, as the 25-year-old may switch teams in England’s top league after a failed switch to German side Eintracht Frankfurt.  Bendtner had been rumored to be close to signing for the German club, but the bid has apparently failed.

Bruce had been rumored to be interested in moves for Celtic’s Gary Hooper, Aston Villa’s Darren Bent, and had a £5 million deal for Burnley striker Charlie Austin fall through because of a failed medical. The former Manchester United defender now looks to make a strong wage offer for Bendtner because of the low cost of the deal, said to be around £3 million.

Bendtner played for Bruce during his time at Sunderland and Birmingham, and looks to reunite with his former boss at Hull and break into the side’s first team.

Hull will also look to sign 38-year-old Steve Harper, who was known for his time at Newcastle, according to the report. Harper is an experienced Premier League goalkeeper, whose career was often hampered by the presence of Irishman Shay Given, who continued to impress for the Magpies before moving to Manchester City.
