West Bromwich Albion striker Peter Odemwingie looks set to finally clinch a move away from the Hawthorns, as Sky Sports is reporting that talks are in an “advanced stage” to send the Nigerian to Crystal Palace. Odemwingie has been out of favor with the Baggies since he tried to force an exit from the club at the end of the January transfer window, even going as far as showing up at QPR’s offices in hopes of clinching a deal.

Now, it looks like West Brom’s longest running transfer saga can come to a close, while newly promoted Crystal Palace pick up some much needed firepower with Premier League experience. The 31 year old has proven he can score goals in France, Russia, and the Premiership, giving Ian Holloway encouragement that he will do the business at Selhurst Park.

Palace fans will be pleased to see the arrival of Odemwingie if the transfer goes through, as the club have seen their most tricky attacking player leave the club this summer. Wilfried Zaha was an influential player for the Eagles last season, but is now plying his trade at Manchester United.

According to the report from Sky, Holloway plans on pairing Odemwingie with new signing Dwight Gayle.

Will Odemwingie be a success for Palace? Have your say below!
