Glen Hoddle, former Spurs player and manager, recently sounded off regarding the speculation around Gareth Bale departing Tottenham for another European club. The ex-England national team manager believes the Welsh winger should remain at Tottenham and at the very least only play for another Premier League team.

“If he does move, I think he will settle easier at another club in England,” Hoddle said according to the Daily Mail.

Bale has been linked with multiple teams, both in the Premiership and La Liga. Manchester United are keen on signing the sensational 23-year-old winger away from Tottenham but Spanish giants Real Madrid have also been rumored to have shown a great deal of interest in purchasing Bale.

According to the Daily Mail, Hoddle continued, “The only ones he can realistically join are Manchester United and Manchester City.

“He could get Champions League football there. But I want him to stay at Tottenham.”

Bale had the best season of his young career during the 2012-2013 campaign, scoring and assisting at will. He scored 30 goals in 53 games and also finished with 11 assists.

Ongoing transfer rumors at White Hart Lane

Tottenham have been busy so far this summer, as reports have the club in discussion to sign striker David Villa away from Barcelona as well as talented Brazilian midfielder Paulinho from Brazilian side Corinthians. After narrowly missing out on Champions League football last year due to an impressive 10 game unbeaten run by fourth place finishers Arsenal, Spurs and manager Andre Villas-Boas hope to keep Bale and bring in some new talent in order to climb back into a top four position at the end of the 2013-2014 campaign.

What do you think? Can Tottenham keep Bale? Will he stay in England or go abroad? Have your say below!

I think they will keep bale for one more season, and with the squad hes got now if they don't get results I think AVB will be gone before the end of season,
