The EA SPORTS FIFA 13 tour visited the new Tottenham Hotspur training ground recently and saw Tom Huddlestone win a video gaming tournament that also involved fellow veteran Michael Dawson as well as youngsters Kyle Naughton and Tom Carroll.
Midfielder Huddlestone eased his way to victory over England international Dawson with an emphatic 5-0 win. The 29-year old defender described his performance as “horrendous” but admitted that the score could have been even worse for him.
In the other match-up, 24-year old Naughton defeated Carroll’s team and wasted no time in sending some banter the 20-year old midfielder’s way.
Right-back Naughton then advanced to the final but despite hitting the post, he couldn’t overcome Huddlestone, who ended up lifting the trophy.
At the end of the video below, you can see Huddlestone confess that the reason behind his success is plenty of FIFA experience playing with his friends.
While there could only be one man winning the trophy in this fun-filled tournament, it is evident that all four men are winners in building excellent team spirit within the Spurs dressing room.
They may have fallen 2-1 to Everton after conceding two late goals at Goodison Park on Sunday but the Spurs remain fifth in the table, only three points adrift of Chelsea.
Last season, it was the Blues who pushed the fourth-place Spurs out of the Champions League after following up their sixth-place Premier League finish with a huge win in the Champions League final.
This season, Chelsea have already been eliminated from the Champions League and after they joined the Spurs in the Europa League Round of 32 last week, Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas relished the prospect of squaring off against his former team.
