Sky Sports are reporting that a deal has been agreed

According to reports, Everton have agreed a deal tobring South African midfielder Steven Pienaar back to Goodison Park. Manager David Moyes has admitted his desire to bring Pienaar back to Merseyside, and a deal appears close.

“I think we are much closer to Pienaar and hopefully in time I will have something, but I don’t quite have it yet,” Moyes was quoted as saying by ESPN Soccernet earlier this week.

Now, Sky Sports is reporting that their sources have confirmed that a deal has been agreed on principle between the two clubs.

Earlier this week Everton fans received the news that long-time servant Tim Cahill was leaving the club after the Australian completed a move to Major League Soccer’s New York Red Bulls. Cahill’s departure has left a gap in the Toffees’ midfield, and a healthy Pienaar would go a long way towards helping the club improve on their seventh place finish.

Tottenham are set to take on Liverpool later today in Baltimore, with both clubs looking to adjust to life under their new managers. Premiership Talk is on location at the match, so follow @PremTalk on Twitter for up to the minute updates.
