Blockbuster €60m transfer swoop “agreed”

By | 12th July 2012

AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has broken the news that he has agreed to sell two of his biggest assets to French giants Paris St. Germain in one of the summer’s biggest blockbuster deals. According to Berlusconi’s comments to Ansa, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva are heading to Paris in a deal that will land AC Milan €60 million.

“It is true that I have sold them to Paris Saint-Germain,” he is quoted as saying by Ansa. “With their departures, we will save €150m.”

Berlusconi had previously been adamant that the Italian giants would be holding on to their two prized assets, insisting that Ibrahimovic is one of the best strikers in the world and that the Swede would be staying at the San Siro.

“Regarding Ibra, he will also remain because he is the best in his position,” Berlusconi was quoted as saying just a month ago.

Neither club has officially revealed any news regarding this potentially massive transfer, but Berlusconi’s comments indicate a deal has been agreed.
