Following the completion of his move to Dynamo Kiev yesterday, former Tottenham midfielder Niko Kranjcar has revealed his love for his former club. The Croatian followed his ex-Portsmouth manager to White Hart Lane, and expressed his gratitude towards Harry Redknapp even after his departure.

“It’s been great. I wanted to play more but I played with some unbelievable footballers,” Kranjcar told Sky Sports.

“Harry has been a big part in my career, he brought me to Portsmouth and believed in me there, we had a great FA Cup win and results with Portsmouth, and then he took me to Spurs as well.

First team football

The Croatian went on to explain that he left for footballing reasons only as he aims to reignite his career with more first team action.

“I had a great first season where I played a lot of games but the last two were quite disappointing and I really wanted to play football,” he said.

“I believe I will play first-team football, which is the most important thing, and it’s a massive club with great support and a big history.

“I am looking forward to a new challenge and I am happy that I spent six great years in England.”
