City striker makes Euro promise

Balotelli vows to be on his best behavior

Manchester City’s controversial striker Mario Balotelli has vowed to be on his best behavior in this summer’s European Championships, promising his Italian coaches that he won’t see red.

“Mario will keep his word, I’m sure,” Italy manager Cesare Prandelli said at his Thursday press conference. “How much confidence do I have in him from zero to 100? One hundred.”

Balotelli had his fair share of disciplinary problems for Manchester City en route to their historic Premier League title win, but his talent showed for Roberto Mancini’s side when he was on the pitch.

Azzurri set to attack

Italian fans are looking forward to seeing a very different attack-oriented Azzurri side, with Prandelli potentially keeping six attacking players on his roster for this summer’s tournament.

“All six of the attackers deserve to be here,” Prandelli revealed. “They’ve really impressed me. They have quality, movement, they know how to attack and integrate with the rest of the team.

“They are modern attackers. If I keep all six in the squad then I’ll sacrifice a defender.”

Will Balotelli have what it takes to lead Italy to European glory? Have your say below!
