The Daily Mail is reporting that Everton could turn to former Manchester United midfielder Kieran Richardson this summer in a bid to bolster their squad. Richardson’s future at the Stadium of Light is in doubt after reportedly informing Sunderland management that he won’t be renewing his contract next summer, and would join the likes of Phil Neville and Tim Howard as United alumni at Goodison Park.

Richardson is still only 27 years old, and with only twelve months remaining on his contract, he could be available at a price that fits within David Moyes’ budget.

The Scottish manager has mastered the art of operating on a low budget, but is looking to make a few summer signings.

Steven Pienaar is another player linked with a permanent move to Goodison Park, but it’s likely that Moyes will have to sell before he buys.

Richardson is already rumored to be attracting interest from West Ham boss Sam Allardyce as the Hammers make their return to the Premier League following a dramatic win in the Championship final last weekend.

Would Richardson be a good signing for Everton? Have your say below!
