Arsenal’s newest midfielder Thomas Eisfeld has made it known that he is proud to be chosen as a Gunner, particularly as he aims to strike a partnership with Tomas Rosicky – a man he grew up watching at Borussia Dortmund.

The 19-year old Eisfeld arrived from Dortmund yesterday to complete his move to North London ahead of the transfer deadline and after being unveiled, the youngster pledged to make both his current and former club proud.

“It’s a real honour to be teammates with the great players at Arsenal, and also training everyday with players like Tomas Rosicky – who I grew up watching play at Dortmund,” Eisfeld stated at the club’s official website.

He added: “I will give it everything I have here and do my best to make the manager, players and fans happy.

“I would also like to thank Borussia Dortmund, where I played for the last seven years, for everything they have done for me. I had a great time there, and there were many wonderful coaches who helped me get to where I am today.”

As part of his deadline-day activities, Gunners boss Arsene Wenger found a club for winger Ryo Miyaichi, who will now spend the remainder of this season at loan to Bolton like fellow Gunner Jack Wilshere did during the 2009-10 season.

Eisfeld, the same age as Miyaichi, has yet to make a senior appearance for any club and Wenger is determined to help the German succeed in the same way as other young starlets at the Emirates.

The Frenchman explained: “Thomas is a player we have liked for some time. We’ve watched him closely this season, where he has excelled for Dortmund’s youth team.

“He is young but has proven to us that he can play, that he has the attitude and technical ability to be a valuable addition to our squad. We’re very pleased to welcome him to the Club and look forward to his contribution in the coming seasons.”

Wenger and his men will be away to Bolton tonight, hoping for all three points as they aim to cut into fourth-placed Chelsea’s six-point advantage and fifth-placed Liverpool’s two-point advantage in the race for Champions League qualification.
