Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has alleviated concerns about Arsenal’s perennially high injury list, stating that it is about to shorten in the coming days.

Goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski made a long-awaited return in the goal during yesterday evening’s 3-2 FA Cup win at home to Aston Villa and Wenger believes that midfielders Abou Diaby and Jack Wilshere are also recovering better than expected.

“I spoke to Jack today. We have no real news yet. The first news we have had is better than expected,” Wenger stated in an interview with Arsenal.com.

The Frenchman added: “He is not in a boot, but I don’t know more. His morale looks quite good and I hope it will only be a short setback. There will be more tests this week.”

Updating compatriot Diaby’s status, Wenger elaborated: “He is coming back (to training) on Tuesday. He has been in a rehab centre and has worked very hard.

“We feel that when he comes back, he will need three more weeks of training, so the earliest he will play will be the end of February.”

Wenger also congratulated Fabianski on a decent showing against Villa despite lacking match practice.

“He lacks a bit of match practice. Overall he did well. On the second goal he parried [Bent's shot] well, and it was unlucky because the ball came back to Bent, who is a great finisher,” said the gaffer.

With Bacary Sagna and Kieran Gibbs making their much awaited return as well, Wenger reiterated that he does not feel the need to add to a rejuvenated Gunners squad.

When quizzed on the topic of buying new players, the boss asserted: “Certainly not. But you never know!”

having jw and co back is indeed a great news but wenger is gradually becoming a football mathematician.his mathmatical minded is taking over his tactical approach, look at the excuse he gave for removing ox inplace of arshavin.wenger should form the habit of convincing his star players to renew their contract what ever it takes.he should change his signing approach because the game itself has changed.

What Arsenal did yesterday was encouraging and morale bosting, given that they have lost 3 premier league games in a row. Perhaps the challenge is to keep the winning spirit.
