Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas insists that he is not the right man to discuss a potential deal for Genk youngster Kevin De Bruyne and also feels that “certain issues” will prevent the club from signing Brazil international Willian from Shakhtar Donetsk.

Speaking ahead of Chelsea’s FA Cup visit to cross-town rivals QPR – a fixture that Villas-Boas desperately wants to win in order to get one step closer to silverware – the Blues gaffer told reporters that neither De Bruyne nor Willian were in his immediate plans.

“Kevin is a player that is club policy, he’s a player that is not within my immediate project, he’s a player that the club has scouted for quite some time – I’m a manager that respects club policies as well,” Villas-Boas stated.

Nevertheless, acknowledging De Bruyne as a bright prospect, he added: “The club has to respect the future, whether it be with this manager or the next manager. Kevin is an extremely interesting player.”

In response the widespread speculation about Chelsea submitting a £16 million bid for 23-year old Willian – who is capped twice by Brazil – AVB was almost equally non-committal.

“I think he’s an extremely interesting player but I don’t think we are going to progress with our interest,” said Villas-Boas.

When asked to explain his stance, the manager added: “Because of certain issues. From work permit to the player’s valuation, I think our project next year is more important than the actual project at the moment.

“Not that Willian doesn’t have the characteristics for the future, we are thinking a lot on what we can do next year.”

Earlier today, Chelsea confirmed the departure of defender Alex to Paris St. Germain but that void is already filled by the arrival of Gary Cahill earlier this month.

Regardless of whether or not the Blues will sign anyone else on their transfer wishlist, which includes Ajax right-back Gregory Van Der Wiel, for now the focus remains on tomorrow’s FA Cup derby clash at Loftus Road.

we have to live our transfer sage in the hand of AVB or else their will be a something that Club will not like and something which is going to confuse the Manager
