Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez has admitted to his club’s official website that his second year has been much more difficult. The Mexican international has seen limited action in the 2011/12 season, and has seen much of his second season plagued by injuries.
“There are different circumstances because I have had more injuries this season than last year, but I am still enjoying it,” said one of last season’s best signings.
Hernandez went on to admit that each year will be more difficult as the league’s defenders get used to his playing style and mazy runs into the box.
“Each year it is going to be more difficult,” he said.
“In the first season, not only the defenders but also the coaches didn’t know me.
“Now, and in the third and fourth seasons, they are going to know me even more.
“But good players like Wayne [Rooney], [Robin] van Persie and [Didier] Drogba have been here five, six years or more and still play at the same high level.
“I need to keep working to do the same.”
