Swansea to land World Cup winner

Goal.com reports Trezeguet could join Swansea

By | 10th August 2011

According to a report from Goal.com, Premier League newcomers Swansea City could succeed in an audacious attempt to sign former World Cup winner David Trezeguet. The French striker is available on a free transfer after leaving Spanish side Hercules, and the Premier League could be an attractive destination.

The report indicates that Trezeguet is also considering an offer from French side Nice, but speculation continues to surface that he may land outside his native country. At 33 years of age, Trezeguet has few years remaining at the top level, but if he can regain the clinical form of years past then he’d surely be a welcome addition to Swansea.

Goal.com┬ábelieves that the Swans will present a formal offer this week, and if Trezeguet accepts he’d complete one of the most unlikely transfers of the summer.

Swansea’s season kicks off in the year’s first Monday night match as they travel to the Etihad Stadium to take on Manchester City, who will be looking to assert themselves as one of this season’s title contenders.

Would a 33 year old Trezeguet be a good signing for the Swans? Have your say below!

I think he will be a great addition to the squad with his experience as a player, he might not be first choice but he will be a great back-up striker.

I don’t think Trezeguet will take a part in Swansea squad,he would accept to take a place in a bigger clubs than a promotion club

he would be a great addition to the squad..
ia frequently used substitute and an expierenced head around the camp

This signing will not happen. Swansea have no interest in Trezeguet, just like the myriad of players that have also been linked to them this Summer. Visit the official web site and the club Chairman Huw Jenkins explains it very succinctly. This rumour, like the others (Mariano Pavone & James McFadden) is made up!
