Manchester City’s big money signing Yaya Toure insists that the Citizens can be better than La Liga giants Barcelona. The midfielder traded in the confines of Camp Nou for the City of Manchester Stadium in a blockbuster move, and with the money still flowing for new signings, Toure insists City can better his old club.
“City are still signing new players but in a couple of years we could maybe be better than Barcelona,” Toure said.
“But what we need to continue to do is work hard and try to continue to improve with every game.
“We are in a good position in the cups and we are well placed for the top four. Our target is to be in the Champions League next year. It is very important for this club.
“It will be tough to stay in there because Liverpool are coming and I’m sure Chelsea will be back, but we can do it.”
Despite some early season talk of a title challenge, Manchester City now find themselves eight points back of leaders Manchester United having played a game more. The likes of Tottenham and Chelsea are breathing down their necks, and Roberto Mancini’s side would surely be pleased with a Champions League finish this season.

Well he would say that but I doubt even he believes a word of it either.
