Manchester City midfielder Nigel de Jong has endeared himself to City fans by saying that he can see himself staying at the Eastlands for many years to come. The Dutch midfielder has undoubtedly been the team’s enforcer since his arrival, and he’s been a key member of Roberto Mancini’s side as they challenge for the Premier League title.

“I can’t ever see myself leaving this club,” de Jong told the official Manchester City magazine Manc.

“City have done so much for me as a player and a person over the last two years. Now the plan is to be successful for a long time to come.”

The only thing that de Jong has lacked since his arrival at the City of Manchester Stadium is goals. The Dutch international is still yet to score for the Citizens, but he is keen on breaking that streak soon.

“I am getting closer but to score a goal for City will be brilliant,” he said.

“I haven’t got a celebration planned, even though I’ve had plenty of time to think about it.”

WE love you too Nigel. Pity the likes of Adebayor dont have some of your fire in the belly and appreciation of the club and its fans.
