Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli has previously stated his desire to play for Serie A outfit AC Milan, but Zlatan Ibrahimovic has voiced his opinion that Balotelli is not required at the San Siro. Balotelli previously played for local rivals Inter Milan, and if it’s up to Ibrahimovic the young Italian won’t find a way back to Milan.
“There is no place for Balotelli,” Ibrahimovic said.
“At Milan we have Ibrahimovic, Cassano, Robinho, Pato and Inzaghi who is injured.
“How many strikers do you want? Should we play with four or six?
“We don’t need other strikers, but these things are up to Adriano Galliani and the Coach.”
The pair have drawn inevitable comparisons to each other not only for their histories with Inter, but also for their off the pitch antics. Both players have never been shy in front of the media, and Balotelli in particular has drawn criticism from many circles for talking too much during his time at the Eastlands.
Last week Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo commented that Balotelli needs to “talk less and play more.”
“Mario is a good player, but he has to talk less and play more,” said Real’s Ronaldo. “He puts too many other things in front of his profession.”
