Following the departure of Emiliano Insua and Fabio Aurelio, Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson has admitted that the club’s first priority is to sign a player who can operate effectively down the left flank. Therefore, it is only logical to expect the media to link the Reds to a new player every day.
The latest player to be linked with a move to Anfield is versatile German international Marcell Jansen. The 24-year-old Hamburg player has played in several positions throughout his Bundesliga career, and like Aurelio, is known to often switch between playing midfield and defense.
Despite already being linked to former Tottenham winger Reto Ziegler, Hodgson has not confirmed the name of the player who will officially be unveiled at Anfield in the coming days. So far, the former Fulham boss has only acknowledged that the void left by Insua and Aurelio needs to be filled as soon as possible.
“We need to find a replacement for Emiliano [Insua] and Fabio [Aurelio]. That is one job we will have to do,” Hodgson said about this situation last week.
In other Liverpool transfer news, midfielder Javier Mascherano appears to be closer to joining Inter Milan with every passing day. Similarly, the future of Spanish striker Fernando Torres remains uncertain, with Chelsea still keen on bringing El Nino to Stamford Bridge.

Liverpool Playing style always suit to German. Remember the players Marcus Babel, Christian Zigler…they are all play a good football at Liverpool.
