Contrary to Iker Casillas’ confidence in Ashley Cole’s prospective move to Real Madrid, Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti has declared that the full-back will not be leaving Stamford Bridge this summer.

Despite the player’s unsettled time in London due to complaints about media intrusion in his personal life, Ancelotti has gone as far as saying that he is 100% certain about the England international’s presence in the Blues squad next season without even speaking with him..

“I didn’t speak with him. I don’t need to speak with him and he doesn’t need to speak to me. He is a player of Chelsea, did a fantastic season for us and will be an important player for us next season – 100%,” said the former AC Milan manager.

Ancelotti also stated that the availability of four strong forwards in Chelsea’s attack means that it is not absolutely mandatory to bring big names such as Fernando Torres and Kaka, even though media reports have heavily linked the duo with the reigning champions.

“I don’t think we need other strikers. Nothing has changed because in the next days Drogba, Anelka and Kalou (come back) and we have Sturridge,” concluded Ancelotti.

Chelsea will start their season at home to West Bromwich Albion on August 14 in a fixture that should result in the acquisition of all three points for the West Londoners.
