City winger: "Everybody's excited"  | read this item

Manchester City winger Adam Johnson couldn’t contain his excitement about the upcoming Premier League season. Johnson’s team have made the biggest transfers of the summer already, and if reports are to be believed they aren’t done just yet.

Ivory Coast international Yaya Toure, German international Jerome Boateng, and Spanish sensation David Silva have already clinched deals to sign for City, and Johnson can’t wait to suit up again in the Premier League.

“I’ve been looking forward to coming back – I didn’t really want the season to end because it was going so well and I was in good form,” said Johnson.

“But it’s a new season, we’re in Europe, and everybody’s excited about what’s going to happen. It just seems to get more exciting by the day with the new signings.

“It’s a great place to play. That’s where the club are going, we want to win things and progress. It’s going to be great to see who else comes in the next couple of weeks.

“There’s a big squad here now but there’s also a lot of games, and everybody can’t play in every game – there’s Europe as well as the two cups.

“We need a good squad with strong people on the bench. There will obviously be changes for different games and I’m ready for that. It’s going to be exciting times. I can’t wait.”
