Reports suggest that Manchester United’s newest signing, Mexican international Javier Hernandez, could be immediately loaned out to La Liga outfit Valencia. The World Cup standout will find playing time hard to come by at Old Trafford, with Wayne Rooney, Dimitar Berbatov, Federico Macheda, Michael Owen, and Danny Welbeck all vying for starting roles.
Hernandez’s father is adding fuel to the loan rumors, saying it could be a good decision to help the 22 year old get acclimated to the European game. The striker made the move to Premier League giants Manchester United this summer from Chivas, the club he signed for as a young boy.
“This could be a positive solution for the adaptation of Javier into European football,” Hernandez’s father told Televisa. “Contacts exist but Manchester have still not decided anything about the subject.
“Javier’s first season in England will not be easy. Perhaps the loan option is not madness.”
Hernandez exploded onto the world scene at this summer’s World Cup, scoring two goals for his national team en route to a disappointing exit to Argentina in the second round. Nicknamed “Chicharito,” Hernandez scored Mexico’s sole goal in the round of 16 as Diego Maradona’s side beat them 3-1.
