Arsene Wenger, who has been known for developing exciting new players at Arsenal, is unsurprisingly impressed with the strong displays of the youthful German squad throughout the World Cup. Often criticized for his lack of investment in established players, Wenger seized the opportunity to once again argue that showing faith in the future generation of players is indeed a rewarding experience.

“Germany have a good generation,” Wenger discussed in an interview with the Gunners’ official website.

“For me they have three outstanding players in this tournament – [Bastian] Schweinsteiger, Mueller and Ozil. Two of them were with the Under-21s last year,” the Frenchman added.

Since his club has won no trophies in the last five seasons, though, Wenger is well aware of the fact that relying on youngsters can prove costly when it does not work.

“Germany were not scared to face the new generation. When it works everyone says it is fantastic. When it does not work, everyone kills you,” he concluded.

Arsenal are currently being linked with one of Germany’s most experienced players, Per Mertesacker. As Premiership Talk previously reported, the towering center-half could be on his way to the Emirates over the summer but all these are yet to be confirmed until the end of the Germans’ thrilling World Cup campaign.

The semifinals will now see Joachim Loew’s men take on European champions Spain in a repeat of the Euro 2008 final that the Spaniards won 1-0. The entire football world will be watching to see if Germany can take a step ahead of Wenger’s young Gunners to convert contender status into a long-awaited title.

Like your thinkin AFM although I would swap Given for Schwarzer if rumours of him leaving Citeh are true.

  2. Arsenal Future Manag says:

    All We Really Need Is:

    #Mark Schwarzer

    #Petr Mertseaker

    #Laurent Koscielny

#Mesut Ozil Or Yoann Gourcuff If We Loose Fabregas

But then again i fink Nasri can replace Fabregas and that would give more chance for Wilshere and Ramsey to get more chance to play.
