After celebrating a La Liga title with Barcelona in his very first season, Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic could be on his way back to Milan. This time, however, he will be wearing the red and black of AC Milan if he ends up returning to the Serie A.
According to FourFourTwo, in order to finance a £40 million deal, the Rossoneri are reported to be looking for suitors interested in signing Dutch forward Klaas Jan Huntelaar and French midfielder Mathieu Flamini.
Champions League-bound Tottenham Hotspur, who will soon begin preparing for their pre-season US tour next month, are said to be aggressively chasing Huntelaar. While at Ajax, the striker attracted interest from the Premier League following several unstoppable performances in the Eredevisie. However, he ended up joining Real Madrid in 2008 before moving swiftly to the San Siro at the beginning of last season.
Now, with Harry Redknapp sure to add another striker to his squad before the beginning of the new Premier League season, expect Huntelaar to begin negotiations with the White Hart Lane outfit as soon as the Netherlands’ World Cup campaign ends.
Flamini, on the other hand, already has an established reputation in England. Despite struggling to make an impression in Italy, he was far from his current anonymous self during his incredible rise to prominence at Arsenal. The Spurs are also said to be interested in the Frenchman’s services, which makes this yet another interesting story of a former Gunner moving to the team’s bitter North London rivals.
