Stoke City may be flying high in the Premier League this season following their recent six game unbeaten streak, but manager Tony Pulis is remaining focused on their objectives. Their eleventh place position at the moment shows how improved they have been this season, but away form has continued to plague the Premier League sophomores. The Potters have managed to pick up all three points just once on their road travels this season.
Pulis, meanwhile, has his sights set on the coveted tally of 40 points: “We have got to get to 40 points, I think everybody will be wanting to get that,” said Pulis.
“I think the sooner you get to 40 points then you can take stock, but 40 points is the target.
“It’s six games unbeaten which is good and if we can carry that on a few more games, get a few more wins, we will be delighted.”
Stoke are only eleven points away from the magic 40 point barrier, but they face a tricky away tie against Wigan Athletic on Tuesday night.
“It will be a tough game at Wigan. I respect every football club in this league and I certainly respect what they have got,” said Pulis.
“We played them a few weeks ago here and the kid scored from the halfway line.
“They have got quality right through the team and it will be a tough game.”
