A year ago Arsenal fans welcomed Andrey Arshavin to the club during the January transfer window, and this time around Arsene Wenger is denying rumors that he is interested in a big name winter signing.
Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh has been linked with a move to Arsenal since the summer, but Wenger insists a January move is not on the cards.
“Chamakh is in the Champions League with Bordeaux and at the top of their league, so he will not move now,” said Wenger.
“He has four months of his contract to go with Bordeaux and they have no interest in selling him.”
Besides Chamakh, Wenger has no targets in mind for this transfer window. “For now I am like I was when I was a student and I had to study for an exam, and I do not know what I will write,” he said.
