Blackburn Rovers midfielder Morten Gamst Pedersen has revealed his desire to move to Scottish Premier League side Celtic. The Norwegian winger has stalled contract talks at Ewood Park, and is reportedly unsettled under manager Sam Allardyce.
The lure of Champions League football makes Celtic Park the ideal destination for Pedersen, and a January move could be on the cards, especially considering Blackburn will not want to lose him on a free in the summer.
”Celtic play regularly in Europe and, for all players, that is a bonus. I’ve never played Champions League football and that is obviously something I dream about doing,” said Pedersen.
”Celtic are a big club, a big name in Europe. They have a good reputation, a big and famous support and they always compete very well.”
Pedersen has gone from being a Blackburn standout to a bit part player, and has been an unused substitute in three of Blackburn’s past five matches. In his twelve Premier League appearances this season Pedersen is without a goal, and has notched just one assist.
”I have a fierce competitive instinct and want to play football every week,” he said. ”I believe I should be playing.”

I’m not overly worried by this, if he had kept his form from the first season he wouldn’t be benched now, although who sam plays instead is hardly any better. I only hope if he does go we get some good money and Sam actually spends it wisely instead of some useless French unknown!
