Spanish newspaper Marca is at it once again with even more transfer rumors, and the latest word from Spanish shores indicates that Real Madrid are preparing a monster bid for Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas. Fabregas has reiterated his desire to stay at Arsenal in recent months, but with Xabi Alonso still looking for a midfield partner at Santiago Bernabeu, boss Manuel Pellegrini is keen to link the two Spaniards up.

Marca claims that Real Madrid is preparing a €50 million bid that will surely tempt Arsenal’s financial department. Real, though, will need to battle it out with La Liga rivals Barcelona, as the Catalan giants are also keen on bringing back their lost son. Fabregas, now 22, started his career with Barcelona and has expressed his desire to one day return to the club.

Just last week Fabregas told the Daily Mail he’d like to first succeed at Arsenal: “I want to continue to be part of what is happening here. Definitely.

“If not I would have left when I had the opportunity, three years ago, two years ago or last year.

“I believe in this team and I feel we can achieve things. The boss believes in us more than anyone, and I feel I am part of it. He makes me see that as well. And I don’t want to fail here.”
