One defeat in the last four Premier league games, with only one goal conceded? Taylor remember these guys haven’t had a pre-season together so for them to be coming into form now is unsurprising. I think Hart’s done a good job, keeping the spirits high what with the amount of set-backs they’ve had.

Squelch – Yes I probably am being unfair in declaring them ready for relegation this early in the season, but the point i’m trying to make is that they aren’t doing much of anything. Do they have the talent? Yes. Are they capable of winning plenty of games and avoiding the drop? Yes. Is any of this happening right now? No, and that’s why I’m jumping on them because I know that they are capable of much better and they should be doing much better.

I think you’re being a little unfair to Pompey. Although they’re clearly not to the standard of the upper-echelons on the Premiership, they have shown a lot of promise in recent games. Key to their survival is consistency, and if they can get a result on Saturday against Blackburn, they can get out of the drop-zone. There’s plenty of talent in that squad, more so than the teams around them.
