Today’s edition of The Times featured a hilarious and insightful story titled “Confessions of a cabin crew.” Air stewardesses had their say about the Premier League’s most polite and rudest stars, and by the sounds of things the Barclays Premiership table also reflects attitudes.
Here, in all of its glory, is what one of the cabin crew members revealed about Tottenham versus Manchester United:
“We often get football teams flying to European games, and it’s always interesting to see how they behave. Without doubt the rudest was Spurs. They were going to Prague a couple of years ago, and they were all very impolite. None of them said thank you for anything.
“One player in particular, a striker, sat with his headphones on and refused to take them off, and none of them would lift their window blinds for takeoff and landing.
“By contrast, Manchester United were incredibly polite. Sir Alex Ferguson was all ‘yes please, no thank you’, and all the team were exactly the same. They were all linked up together playing Fifa football on their Game Boys or PlayStations or whatever they were. They were like a bunch of little schoolboys.
“The only one who wasn’t playing was [Cristiano] Ronaldo, who just rolled his eyes at me whenever I walked down the plane, as if to say, ‘Look what I have to put up with, with these kids.’”
Special thanks to Who Ate All the Pies for spotting this.

“and by the sounds of things the Barclays Premiership table also reflects attitudes”
Could you explain that.. makes no sense to me. You only talk about two clubs..
And of those two clubs, witnesses said United has better attitudes…and they’re trumping Spurs.
Lol Dimi is spot on!! If only United could now lose their arrogance and moaning and the United haters might have to jump ship to Spurs!! lol
ffs lol we are suppose to believe this are we? your all very sad if you believe it. Isnt it funny that they said Ronaldo was only one that didnt join in, like they are Manu fan and doesnt like Ronaldo and prob not Spurs!
Politesse is instilled in one through the morals and ethics of the family. Blame the parents, Arry, clip em round the ear.
Shameful!
Is it a coincidence a rather moody obnoxious former tottenham striker is pictured for this article…..
Actually as a Spurs fan I am ashamed of this. Attitude is about winning, but not at all costs. Spurs have this attitude which pervades at the moment which is about them doing what they want. I want to see them behave. These are the guys setting the stall for the youth team at Spurs. Why with all of the promising youth players Spurs get, do none of them get through? I bet the striker was Defoe or Berbatov…
Does anybody really give a crap how our lads behave on a flight?, it’s on the pitch that we want them to show there true colours not whether their bing “good lil boys” on a frigging plane!
So you’ve never fancied a glimpse at what these guys are like off the pitch? Sorry if it’s not your cup of tea, but others out there enjoy hearing about their heroes off the pitch…
Ignore him Brian, I was interested – disappointed to hear the Spurs lads didn’t conduct themselves with a little more decorum.
