Having been linked with Manchester United and Real Madrid earlier this year, Inter Milan’s right back Maicon has now found himself linked with none other than Manchester City. His agent, Antonio Caliendo, has quashed these rumors, suggesting that City is too small of a club for Maicon.

“Every day there’s a story linking Maicon to a different club,” said Caliendo.

“First it was Real Madrid, then Manchester United and now City. I think Maicon has already reiterated his wish to remain at Inter.”

“If the likes of Real or United knock on the door then you consider the eventual offers,” said Caliendo. “But we are talking about a top player who is fighting for the league title, the Champions League, the best player in his role, what would he be doing at City?

“I think it would be unthinkable, let’s not joke about it.”

Caliendo has not played down rumors of a move away from the San Siro for his client, but Maicon’s destination is certainly not going to be the City of Manchester Stadium.

  1. Can I be maicon's new agent? says:

What a chump Maicon’s agent is, he didn’t even think he could use City’s interest to get Maicon a better deal – Mr Maicon you need a new agent, one that doesn’t diss the richest most ambitious club on the planet!

  2. Thomas O'Loughlin says:

Small club, small mentality. Don’t even own their own ground. No matter how much money City have, they will NEVER be a big club.

  3. Husker Blu says:

Put City down all you like…..but in a few short years, Maicon, and players of his stature will be begging to come here…As others have proved, money and time talks…and City have both in spades. Our time will come….
