If there is one thing clear at the moment, it is that Liverpool are in disarray and are on the road to nowhere. After the Champions League loss to Lyon at home it is now time to surely question Rafa Benitez’s leadership as manager.
Without Gerrard and Torres we have seen Liverpool’s true colors. They could have got hammered by Sunderland and were woeful at home in the Champions League. Jamie Carragher must be cursing the fact Sami Hyypia is no longer at the club. While Hyypia was written off last season, he at least provided a calm presence and was a quality defender.
Lucas is terrible. In fact, terrible is too nice of a word to describe him. Two defensive midfielders at home hardly lays down to the opposition. Another scary fact is Benitez is currently relying on youth players to start games they have to win. Given the amount of money he has spent ,Liverpool are a very mediocre outfit.
Decision making doesn’t seem to be Benitez’s strong point, either. Taking off Benayoun, Liverpool’s best player, was madness, and bringing on Voronin in his place is even more absurd. Voronin should be put in the reserves (or sold) and never thought about again.
A lot of questions are being asked and Rafa doesn’t seem to have the answers. Liverpool is a team who can’t keep possession, have two quality players, and are short of pace at the back.
Unless Liverpool give a big response at the weekend against Manchester United, then it may well be Benitez who is the first manager to get the sack this season.
A little bit of a knee jerk by Thomas or fact? Have your say below!

lose on sunday with or without gerrard and torres, if the same poor team selection continues BENITEZ SHOULD WALK, zonal marking has cost us big games too often, if he cant realise this or wont then he is just hanging on thats not good for LFC its time to call for KING KENNY even a win on sunday would just be a false dawn until the next crappy performance.!!
Unfortunately it looks like rafas stiffed it
most pathetic forward line of any of the big 5
vronin is a joke
I think the first sentence of the second paragraph sum’s it up…
If your far and away 2 best players are not on the pitch, chances are your not going to have success…
I don’t believe that Liverpool has learned to win without Gerrard and Torres, and it will be Benitez’s job to try and get them to.
