Jose Mourinho has continued his special ways as he announced his Inter Milan starting eleven an entire day before his side’s crucial Champions League fixture against Barcelona. The former Chelsea manager was never afraid to pull this stunt during his time in the Premier League, and his latest display raises the question: is the special one arrogant or intelligent?
On one hand, Mourinho’s antics indicate that he is more than confident about facing the defending champions of Europe. With a new front duo of Samuel Eto’o and Diego Milito, Mourinho could perhaps know what he’s doing. The new look Inter side arguably have what it takes to beat Barcelona on paper, and Mourinho’s confidence could spread throughout his side.
On the other hand, this public display of confidence could be viewed as arrogant and distasteful. Barcelona earned the respect of the entire footballing world last season as they captured a rare treble, and on their return to Champions League action they are already being disrespected by the opposition. Additionally, it could be argued that instead of talking and taunting the upcoming match, Mourinho should put his money where his mouth is. He has, after all, underachieved in Europe’s top competition since his triumph with Porto.
In all honesty, Mourinho’s above-all fun attitude has brought more joy and anticipation to football. Inter’s match against Barca later today should be a feast of football, and regardless of the outcome it should be entertaining.
Watch Inter take on Barcelona at 2:45pm EST, 7:45 GMT.

You can be both you know.
He acts the obnoxious prick in public, but those who work with him mainly adore him. He’s an egomaniac who spends a lot of time tending to the egos of others.
He’s a great big walking contradiction!
