Sunderland Closing in on Crouch

Steve Bruce is set to complete his first major signing at the Stadium of Light as the Black Cats close in on a £12 million move for Peter Crouch. The England international is currently in Sunderland locked in transfer talks with the club, and a move appears imminent.

Fulham are also interested in a move for the Portsmouth striker, and if Roy Hodgson can raise the funds for Crouch then Craven Cottage is his preferred destination. The £5 million sale of Bobby Zamora is a last ditch attempt by the Cottagers to steal Sunderland’s bid, but at this moment in time it’s Sunderland’s player to lose.
