Bolton have wrapped up the signing of former Portsmouth midfielder Sean Davis. Davis rejected a new contract at Fratton Park and joins the Trotters on a free transfer.
Manager Gary Megson finally gets his man after a long pursuit. In January Bolton bid £3 million for the player, but Pompey were quick to reject the bid. In hindsight, with only six months left on the midfielder’s contract, Portsmouth should have accepted the cash on the table.
While Bolton are keen to bolster their squad this summer, it remains to be seen what will happen at Fratton Park. With a takeover deal still in the pipeline, Portsmouth players and staff are waiting to see who will be brought in to the club, who will leave, and – more importantly – who the new manager will be.
Bolton has secured Sean Davis on a three year deal.
